QuikDiSC cards are a great tool to kick off your next Everything DiSC session – a simple way to quickly get everyone involved, develop trust in the group and encourage people to start sharing their behaviours in a safe environment. QuikDiSC cards were designed to engage learners with the concepts of the Everything DiSC behavioural differences in people in an informal, relaxed way which not only helps participants get comfortable with each other, but enables you to quickly get acquainted with them too. You can also use the cards in other ways throughout your Everything DiSC session – check out our suggested exercise below. As well as being quick and easy to use with immediate impact, the cards have two other major benefits:

  • Immediate personal validation by the participants of the concepts presented in training, increasing training acceptance and retention
  • Reinforcement of experiential learning, improving long-term training effectiveness
What’s in the box?

Each box contains four sets of 32 cards – a total of 128 cards; use one for groups up to ten, or add extra sets if your group is bigger. Each 32-card set includes eight different descriptors for each of the four different DiSC styles:

  • Dominance = Green
  • Influence  = Red
  • Steadiness = Blue
  • Conscientiousness  = Yellow
How to use the cards

There are lots of different ways you can use the QuikDiSC cards – but to get you started, here’s one we often use ourselves. How to play

  • Shuffle the deck and hand out six cards to each player. Ask participants to choose the card that is least like them and to place it face down on a table in an open area. Explain that the first step is to keep the five cards they feel are the most accurate description, as they see themselves.
  • With five cards in hand, ask everyone to mingle, introduce themselves and trade cards to get an increasingly accurate description of themselves on the cards.
  • When they have five cards that describe them well, ask each person to discard the two cards that are least like them.
  • When people discard their cards, they should put them face up so others can trade cards in their hand for any card on the table that more accurately describes them. After all the trading is done, the cards on the table are collected.
  • With the three remaining cards they feel best describe them, each participant is asked to explain their chosen characteristics and how they relate to an incident from his or her life experiences.

QuikDiSC cardsDebriefing

  • Ask everyone to look at the distribution of colours around the room. Each colour represents a unique view of the world and a way of responding to it. A wide variation in colours indicates a very diverse group. You can point out the potential synergistic power within the group.
  • If one colour predominates, it is an indication that the group is fairly homogeneous and alike in significant ways. The diversity is there, but it is reflected primarily in the intensity of the style or dimension of behaviour.
  • Invite pepole to compare the various descriptive words and point out the wide range of colours in their hands to reveal the diversity within the predominant behavioural style of the group.

The QuikDiSC Cards can be used for all kinds of exercises from team building and networking to improving customer service and change management.
