Global leadership team across four continents
30 senior leaders
Context: organisational change driving uncertainty
Challenge: inconsistent communication eroding trust
Approach: DiSC as a strategic leadership language
Result: faster alignment and clearer communication across regions

During a period of complex global change, a multinational organisation recognised that inconsistent leadership communication was beginning to erode trust across regions. Uncertainty about the future was creating mixed emotions across regions and leadership levels.

An internal employee survey highlighted a clear issue: transparency and communication were not landing effectively.

The challenge
Senior leaders needed to:

  • communicate clearly and consistently during change
  • understand how their messages were being perceived
  • strengthen trust across regions and functions
  • lead at pace without losing connection with their people

Thirty senior leaders – including regional general managers, country heads and global functional directors – came together for a leadership session designed to address these challenges.

Our approach
Rather than treating DiSC as a one-off intervention, we positioned it as a strategic leadership language – enabling faster alignment and more intentional communication during uncertainty.

Although most participants had experienced DiSC before, working with it collectively – in their real leadership teams – created a deeper and more practical conversation. Leaders explored how different styles interpret the same message, why perception matters as much as intent, and how behavioural preferences influence communication during uncertainty.

A culture metaphor exercise quickly surfaced unspoken assumptions about agility, resilience and collaboration – creating a level of openness rarely achieved in global leadership teams.

Culture and leadership insight
The group reflected on the impact of a fast-paced, results-driven leadership culture. While this brought clear strengths, it also highlighted common risks during change – particularly the tendency for listening, coaching and one-to-one conversations to be deprioritised.

Leaders explored how small shifts in behaviour and communication could significantly improve trust, clarity and engagement within their regional teams.

The outcome
The session created immediate alignment around leadership expectations and established a more consistent approach to communication across regions. Leaders left with:

  • a shared language for communication and leadership
  • greater awareness of how their style impacts others
  • practical strategies for leading conversations during change
  • stronger alignment across regions and functions

Most importantly, the session created space for leaders to feel heard, understood and better equipped to support their teams through transition.

Why experience matters
Leading through uncertainty requires more than frameworks, it demands behavioural insight applied in real organisational contexts. Our practitioners combine diagnostic expertise with senior leadership experience, enabling us to translate insight into practical leadership shifts that organisations feel quickly.
